About Christina Sutter

Christina has a Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology from Gonzaga University and a double Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Calgary. Christina works in private practice in Calgary, AB, and as a therapist with Wheatland County Counselling. She is a NCCP Level One Coach and has experience as a competitive swim coach. 

Christina has worked with adolescents, adults and couples in both private practice and health care settings. One of her areas of specialty is sports psychology, including sports performance, self-esteem and coping skills. Christina also has a trauma therapy focus and has experience working at a treatment centre with high risk addiction, trauma and abuse. 

Christina is passionate about providing empathy, compassion, and acceptance on the path to change. She provides a holistic, integrative counselling approach thats incorporates emotion-focused therapy, reality therapy, neurobiological trauma therapy, and psychodynamic therapy.

Christina's focus is on building a trusting and safe relationship with her clients as a foundation for effective and lasting changes. She focuses on powerful insights which enable clients to bring out the answers within, and helping each client to create practical strategies which can be implemented to create meaningful change.
