Hello, I’m Deborah.
I believe in working alongside you, with compassion and respect, to help you use your strengths and find balance. Together, we can discuss goals for therapy and life, process through past hurts and trauma, and decrease anxious thought patterns and stress.
I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Whether you are a parent seeking support for your child, a family or couple looking to rebuild your connection, or an adult feeling stuck and overwhelmed, I am here to walk alongside you.
Before transitioning into therapy full-time, I spent years working as a classroom teacher, specializing in Literacy, Early Childhood Education, and Special Education. This background gives me an intimate understanding of school pressures and child development, allowing me to connect exceptionally well with younger clients and offer practical guidance and support to parents.
My approach is trauma-informed and culturally sensitive. To tailor our sessions to your unique needs and goals, I draw from a variety of evidence-based techniques, including:
- Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
- Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Play Therapy
- Narrative Therapy
- Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Solution Focused Therapy (SFT)
I hold a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Bachelors of Education from Trinity Western University. I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the CCPA and a Registered Counselling Therapist (CT) with ACTA.
Together, we will build on your existing strengths, develop practical coping tools, and foster the lasting resilience you need to truly thrive and enjoy your life.
