I believe we are relational beings. These relationships can wound us, but relationships also have tremendous healing potential. I work with individuals, couples, and families to explore their experiences and make meaning out of difficult circumstances. You might be looking for practical tools to help navigate challenges, or maybe you are looking for a fresh perspective from a perceptive professional. Maybe you need someone to journey with you on a difficult road, knowing you are not alone. Perhaps you need help to mend a ruptured relationship. I support all my clients with unconditional positive regard no matter their reason or needs for professional support. I recognize that you are the expert in your life, and I strive to provide a warm and accepting environment. Compassion and curiosity are the mainstays of my practice.
For those interested in the details, I graduated Suma Cum Laude from Briercrest Seminary with a Master of Arts in Marriage & Family Therapy and am an associate with the CAMFT (Canadian Association of Marriage & Family Therapists). As a therapist, I focus on systems, not just symptoms, as I am client-centred in my approach. I have received additional training in interpersonal trauma, EMDR, emotionally focused and narrative therapy, substance use disorders, and my research focus was on infertility and reproductive trauma. While I am skilled at working with diverse life circumstances and mental health needs, I have unique experience counselling in faith-based settings and with those who love a special needs child. As a wife and mother of four, I am dedicated to serving the local community.
