Hello, I’m Deni.
I live in Calgary but love providing services in smaller community settings, as it reminds me of my hometown in Saskatchewan.
I value total presence and personal connection and believe these show through in my relationship with you. I offer a warm and non-judgmental environment to explore thoughts, emotions, and experiences to discover solutions and find peace and clarity.
I work with children, adolescents, teens and adults seeking services for various reasons.
I practise with an integrated approach to counselling, using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Person-Centred Therapy, Strength-Based Therapy and Play Therapy. I recently became Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) trained and am eager to encompass this fascinating treatment into my toolkit to support you.
I previously worked as a Family Support Worker specializing in parenting support for families with Children and Family Services involvement. I loved working with parents and their children in this role, so I’m pleased to incorporate parents into therapeutic work when counselling children.
I’m a Registered Psychologist holding a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Calgary.
I plan to become certified as a Play Therapist.
I enjoy playing hockey, golfing, practising yoga and spending time with friends and family.
